The Hogas story is rooted in a simple idea: street food, done right. It started in 2015 at Oxford’s bustling Gloucester Green market. Alongside a passionate crew, we launched "HogMod," a Sunday food stall inspired by the 70s Mod scene. Our ambitions were huge, but the project was a false start, pausing until 2018.

That year, HogMod was reborn on Brastos Street in Kaunas. Operating from a small spot next to the campsite, near the new Piliamiestis neighborhood, we stripped everything back, focusing purely on the smoke and the flavour. It was here that our signature traditions were forged: "Ribs Day," where every Friday, smoke-infused ribs were pulled straight from the smoker for lunch; and our annual July birthday celebration, marked by roasting an entire pig and hosting live music.

From Oxford Market to Kaunas

2020 was the game-changer. We finally found a home in the historic premises of a former monastery and opened Hogas Pub. This was the moment we became a true local spot—a synthesis of our love for great pub food and alternative music culture. Evenings were thick with oak smoke and guitar sounds for four incredible years.

Even now, having moved to our more intimate space on Kęstučio Street in 2024, our core vision is stronger than ever.

We treat street food as an art form. We are committed to immense care and responsibility in every dish we serve. This means we bake our own burger buns, use high-quality organic aged beef, and craft all our spices and sauces from scratch in our kitchen. We believe every single thing on your plate should be perfect.

Music is simply inseparable from who we are. Hogas remains a dedicated haven for alternative music in Kaunas. Open Jam sessions have become a huge part of Hogas Pub, and every year, we host the "Hogas Open" competition to support young bands, and every week, we host a diverse calendar of events—from intense trivia and rock concerts to book launches and late-night comedy.

We built Hogas for the community, and our journey—fueled by smoke and a lot of passion—continues.
